The holiday season is stressful. So stressful. YOU DESERVE A BREAK. Painting and self-care rituals around art have given me a safe space to explore how I care for myself in the busiest season of the year. I think you deserve that too, so I've created these mini-retreats to do just that.

I became an artist by painting as a hobby: a way through the darkness of depression and anxiety. Before I had my children, I didn't have an urgent need to create self-care routines. Once my children were born, I began painting to quiet my inner thoughts.

Learning to use paint as a mental wellness tool gave me a sense of safety that nothing else ever had. Making my art practice a habit gave me energy, a place to work out my emotions, and time to really acknowledge my thoughts. In this "retreat", I'm going to share all the strategies I use to build calming self-care habits through paint. 

This course is for adults only, and for any painting ability level. Please read through all the images above to see if this is the right workshop for you. 

THE COLORS: The title of each workshop just correlates to the color of the graphic! It's just for sorting classes. Each workshop covers the same material, but will be altered based on the people who sign up.

-Short artist talk + group conversation re: mental wellness, daily stress, and experiences
-Workbook with questions and prompts for painting independently and targeting mental wellness.
-List of my favorite materials and a list of the materials I CAN'T live without.
-Lots of time to paint, as I explore different materials LIVE with you. 
-Open door for any questions about art, painting, mixed media, etc. I'm an open book!
-Paint along: Similar to "wine and art" classes, you'll have a chance to watch me paint and to paint along. Unlike those courses, you'll get to paint something that comes straight from you. You'll get to experiment, try some of my favorite painting strategies for calming my chaos, and you may even learn a few new art techniques! I hope I do too! 
-A "suggested" materials list (but please note: You can use WHATEVER you have around the house!) 
-IF you purchase from the suggested materials list, you'll have everything you need to make a calming piece of art for yourself or as a gift for the holidays. 
-A Facebook group for group discussions and conversation afterwards.
-Every retreat will be different because each will focus on what the group itself wants. 

PLEASE NOTE: This "retreat" is not (NOR is it a substitute for) mental healthcare, for medical care, medication, or therapy. I am not a doctor. I am not a mental health professional. 

ALL times and dates are in Pacific timezone. 

SLIDING SCALE: Pay what you can. There are three options. The $52 price point is the true cost of the retreat, but use the sliding scale if you need it. It's there for a reason: do NOT pay more than you can afford. Please contact me if you need additional help or options. Group pricing is available upon request. No refunds, but one rescheduling is available, dependent upon availability. Each group has very limited space. 

CANCELLATION: Upon an emergency, please notify me immediately. I will do the same should something come up, and we will reschedule.
